Traditions

Environment you were born in can not be controlled. You grow with it, get used to, it becomes your second nature. Traditions should be respected. It is not fair to transfer a person and say: you must forget all you have experienced before. It is your new life. Adjust and enjoy. A woman from another culture will bring her accent, her thinking, memories from the times she celebrated holidays with a family, desire to meet with girlfriends and go for a cup of coffee more often than once a month. By the way, it is very common to have a friend in Ukraine who would call you unexpectedly and you both would go and enjoy a conversation, laughter, coffee. Women relate to who they are talking about things, find appreciation for what they do listening to others, get advise, emotional relief etc. American friendship and other things are different in same way. So, it is a good idea to ask a woman from abroad if she misses some specific routine from former home or events from her past and if so arrange something for her. It would be great if you could participate in trying things from her culture, getting involved in national music, art or anything she misses. Tell her more about the history, way the things work in your culture. Go for a football game or to a corn maze together. She will adopt with the time, identify what she likes to do most and your home will become hers.
