For some reason toners are not that popular any more and almost replaced by the mists but I would recommend not to forget them and to include a good toner into your morning/night beauty routine. Toners remove invisible dirt and oil, dead skin. They are irreplaceable if you wear lots of makeup or skin is oily. Toners are helpful during the summer. They are also important for skin pH balance.
Tonics are quite strong with up to 20% alcohol and therefore are not recommended for dry skin. Skin refreshers will do much better job in this case.
Astringents such as witch hazel contain antiseptics, humectants, water up to 60% alcohol. They are strong and drying, suitable for a very oily skin or for application to specific problem areas.
Toner I’m using at the moment is OLEHENRIKSEN BALANCING FORCE™ OIL CONTROL TONER
This toner contains active botanical mix of green tea 🍵 , eucalyptus, algae and Irish moss extracts 🍀 Plus AHA, BHA as well as neem seed oil are a part of its formula. It is noncomedogenic and controls oil, makes skin fresh, make the pores appear to be smaller.
Advice: look for alcohol-free product specially if your skin is dry since alcohol strips the natural oil and dries the skin out.
If there is none of the above mentioned products at your disposal use cold water 💧💦 instead of a toner to refresh the skin and close the pores.
